I am deeply honored to join the advisory board of the European Hong Kong Diaspora Alliance (EHKDA), a coalition dedicated to advocating for the rights, freedoms, and cultural heritage of the Hong Kong diaspora across Europe. For years, I have been committed to supporting communities that strive for justice, autonomy, and basic human rights, and EHKDA’s mission aligns closely with these values.
EHKDA’s work goes beyond community building; it champions political freedoms and human rights for Hongkongers now calling Europe home. By advocating directly with policymakers, EHKDA ensures that Hongkongers in Europe are represented and protected, and that their voices remain influential in shaping a democratic future. This coalition is a platform not only for preserving cultural identity, but for reinforcing a commitment to fundamental freedoms, democratic values, and respect for human dignity.
Joining EHKDA feels like a natural extension of my dedication to human rights and my belief in the power of advocacy. The challenges Hongkongers face are close to my heart, as I have long worked to give a voice to those who cannot always speak freely or who seek refuge from repression. I am excited to bring my experience in international human rights and coalition-building to this role, standing alongside EHKDA’s passionate members to strengthen our collective impact.
Together, I believe we can help create a vibrant, empowered diaspora that celebrates its heritage and plays a crucial role in advancing the values of freedom and democracy for Hongkongers within Europe.
